The New Kent Early College Academy (ECA) provides a pathway for NKHS students to earn an associates degree from Rappahannock Community College by the summer after graduating high school.  Students apply in 10th grade, but careful planning in 9th grade is required. ECA is the most rigorous course of study available at NKHS and requires a highly self-motivated learner willing to tackle a combination of Advanced Placement and Dual-Enrollment courses with some summer course commitments.

More details can be found in the application, which is due by Dec. 14 to the School Counseling office.  Upon submission, students will be notified in Jan. as to testing that may be required to qualify.  Mr. Williams, the RCC Dual Enrollment Coordinator, will also meet with each applicant to map out their specific recommended course sequence.  Whether a student does all or part of the program, there can be literal and figurative big value in Early College Academy!  If you are an interested 9th grader, please fill out and submit the "intent" to apply application.  It is not considered a formal application, as that occurs in 10th grade, but it is highly recommended.  If you have general questions, please email Mrs. Spiak, the NKHS point of contact, at
