Christopher Newport University Summer Humanities Institute
The Summer Humanities Institute will expose students to a wide range of ideas, values and people instrumental to the founding of the American republic.  Institute will run from June 19-July 2.  Application deadline is March 15, 2016.

Duke University Summer Session
Students in grades 9-12 can enroll in personal enrichment classes with a global perspective.  Begin accepting applications December 1, 2016.

Eisenhower Institute Government Leadership Camp at Gettysburg College
Summer program for students in grades 11-12 who are highly motivated leaders with a desire for understanding American government, a passion to refine their leadership skills, and drive to make a difference.

Experience America
Programs developed with the University of Washington in Seattle and the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FiDM) in Los Angeles.  Programs include Entrepreneurship, Game Experience, Fashion at FiDM, and Experience Japan.

Gettysburg College Camp Psych
Provides a window into how psychological science works for students in grades 10-12.

Gettysburg College Writing Camp

Provides an in-depth introduction to all four genres of creative writing: poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and writing for stage and screen.

Gettysburg College 3D Object Modeling and Printing
Students will study 3D object modeling and printing starting with the basics of a 3D printer.

Longwood University Economics and Personal Finance Course
For students looking to complete Economics and Personal Finance over the summer and receive college credit.  Session runs from June 13 to July 9.

NYU Summer Programs for High School Students
Runs from July 5- August 16, 2016.  Apply by April 1, 2016 for scholarship consideration.  Students can earn college credit while taking courses in favorite subjects or by exploring new areas of interest.

Roanoke College Summer Institute
Program runs from July 5- July 30 and offers the following courses: Impact of Disease on Human History, Things in Contact, Gods, Ghosts, Monsters, and Spanish.

Summer Discovery at UT Austin
Pre-college enrichment, college prep, and intensive institutes for grades 9-12.

University of Virginia Curry School of Education Summer Enrichment Program
Session 1 is June 18-29, Session 2 is July 2-13, and Session 3 is July 16-27, 2017. Students attend only one session each summer. We offer quality learning experiences designed to cultivate interest and potential in a wide variety of fields and disciplines.  Qualifying students should be identified as gifted or show high potential in academic fields or intellectual, creative, artistic and/or leadership capacities.  Applications are due February 15, 2017.


VCU Dental Career Exploration (DCE) & Dental Hygiene Career Exploration (DHCE)
DCE and DHCE are offered to high school students from the city of Richmond and Chesterfield, Hanover and Henrico counties who are interested in exploring a career in dentistry or dental hygiene. Preference will be given to highly-qualified, underrepresented minority, first generation college, or students interested in serving in under-served communities, but is open to all applicants.  
DCE is a two-week, non-residential program for high school students who want to explore dentistry through hands-on lab activities and interactive workshops.  DHCE is a three-day, non-residential program for high school students who want to explore dental hygiene through hands-on lab activities and interactive workshops. DCE will be held July 5, 2016-July 15, 2016 from 9:30 am- 3:30 pm daily.  DHCE will be held June 21, 2016- June 23, 2016 from 9:30 am- 3:30 pm daily.

Virginia Board for People with Disabilities Youth Leadership Forum

A personal, leadership, and career development training program for rising high school juniors and seniors with disabilities who have demonstrated leadership potential and motivation.  The camp will be July 25-28 at Virginia State University and all expenses will be paid for.  Directions for completing the application can be found here.

Virginia Latino Higher Education Network's Hispanic College Institute
Held at Virginia Tech from August 104, 2016.  The program is for high school sophomores and juniors and provides college application and financial aid information, as well as the opportunity to engage with successful Hispanic leaders and role models.  Must apply by April 1, 2016.  More information at this link: http://www.admiss.vt.edu/pr/events/HCI2016.pdf

Virginia Space Grant Consortium
Free. statewide STEM program for current 8th and 9th graders.  Sessions are offered at Old Dominion University, Virginia Tech, and University of Virginia.  Application deadline is February 1, 2016.
